Be strong in the Lord
"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil." Ephesians 6:10-11 All Christians are in an active, spiritual battle. There is an enemy that seeks to destroy us by planting seeds of discontent, distorting our view of God, and destroying our identities (in Christ). It is important to remember that satan is NOT God's equal....for there is nothing or no one equal to God. But the enemy is very clever and deceptive. He is so deceptive that he can mimic God's voice and lead us astray. We combat these falsehoods by relying on God's Word (the Bible) and living in a godly community. Ephesians 4; Paul urges us "to walk in a manner worthy of the calling..with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace." Community is the expression of our love for God extended to each other. This is why the enemy sows seeds of discord. It is time for the people of God to come out of darkness and understand and live in the light of true Godly love and fellowship. We are no longer ignorant of the devil devices (2 Corinthians 2:11); we must be careful that he doesn't gain an advantage over us. Paul teaches us how to fight which starts with putting on the WHOLE armor of God. God loves us so much that HE gives us hope and promises only found in Jesus, the living Word. We must fight the lies of satan with the Word of God. God is good and His love is everlasting. You are valuable, loved, and created with and for purpose. The study of the book of Ephesians have been life changing for me. I encourage you to read this wonderful letter and pray that God opens your heart and eyes to its beautiful meaning!
